Drum lighting does not come on

The drum lighting for the tumble dryer does not come on.

To save energy, the drum lighting goes out automatically after a set time and after the programme starts.

Switch the tumble dryer off and then on again.

To switch the drum lighting on, open the door of the tumble dryer.

The drum lighting (LED) is faulty.

The drum lighting is designed to last a long time and should not normally need to be replaced.

If you have tried everything but the drum lighting still does not come on, contact the Miele Customer Service Department.

The lamp is defective.

The tumble dryer is damaged.

Faults affecting the drum lighting or electronic module may occur.

The new lamp must not exceed the maximum rating specified on the data plate and cap.

Only source the new high-temperature-resistant lamp from a Miele dealer or the Miele Customer Service Department.

After changing the lamp, make sure that the cap is correctly seated above the door opening to ensure a watertight fit.

To change the lamp, proceed as follows:

  • Before changing the lamp, unplug the appliance mains plug from the socket. Alternatively, disconnect the mains fuse.

  • Open the appliance door.

  • Depending on the model, unscrew the cap that is located above the door opening inside the tumble dryer or open the cover in the door opening.

  • Replace the lamp.

  • Put the cap back in place.

Make sure that the cap is seated securely. If the cap is loose, there is a risk of moisture entering and causing a short circuit.
