Hob does not get hot

The hob does not get hot when it is switched on.

Demo mode is activated.

These functions enable the hob to be demonstrated in dealer showrooms without heating up.

On hobs without rotary controls, the demo mode can be deactivated as follows:

  • Switch the hob on.

  • Place an induction-compatible item of cookware on the hob.

  • Press the 0 sensor control on any numerical display.

  • Then touch the 0 and 2 sensor controls at the same time for 6 seconds.

In the timer display, dE flashes alternately with On (demo mode activated) or OFF (demo mode deactivated) for a few seconds.

On hobs with rotary controls, the demo mode can be deactivated as follows:

  • Turn the rotary control for the front left cooking zone anti-clockwise and hold.

  • Turn the rotary control for the front right cooking zone twice briefly anti-clockwise and then turn anti-clockwise and hold until the following appears in the cooking zone display:

    • dE (demo mode activated)

      or

    • 0000 (demo mode deactivated)

The overheating protection mechanism has been activated.

You can start using the cooking zones again as soon as they have cooled down to a safe level. If the overheating protection is being triggered relatively frequently, contact Miele Customer Service.

There may be a technical fault.

Turn the rotary control to 0.

Disconnect the hob from the electricity supply for approx. 1 minute. To do this, take the following steps:

  • Trip the relevant fuse or screw the fine-wire fuse out completely.

  • Switch off the residual current device.

If the hob will still not turn on after resetting the trip switch in the fuse box or the residual current device, contact a qualified electrician or Miele Customer Service.

There is no power to the hob.

Check whether the circuit breaker has tripped. Contact a qualified electrician or Miele Customer Service (for the minimum fuse rating, see data plate).
